Workflow C: Tenant Addition Study

Goal: Determine if an existing tower can support additional antennas from a new tenant.

This is the highest-value workflow for TowerCo operators — it directly enables revenue decisions.

Process Flow

Load existing tower ──> Add proposed antennas ──> Analyze ──> Compare before/after ──> Report

Step-by-Step

1. Load the Baseline Model

Open the existing tower model from your dashboard (previously created via Workflow B or saved from a prior design).

2. Record Baseline Results

Before adding the new tenant, note the current:

  • Maximum unity check ratio and which member
  • Total tower weight
  • Base reactions

3. Add Proposed Antennas

Using the Mounts and Assets tabs:

  1. Add a mount at the requested elevation and face
  2. Add the tenant's antennas with exact dimensions and weight
  3. Add any associated cables, RRUs, or equipment

4. Re-Run Analysis

Click Analyze. TowerPlot recalculates everything including the new loading.

5. Compare Results

MetricBeforeAfterDelta
Max unity check ratio
Critical member
Total weight (kg)
Base reaction Fz (kN)

Decision criteria:

  • If all members remain < 1.0 unity check ratio → tower can accept the tenant
  • If some members exceed 1.0 → reinforcement needed or different antenna placement required
  • If base reactions increase significantly → foundation review needed

6. Export & Share

Generate the Excel report and share link. Include both the before and after analysis for comparison.

Revenue Impact

Each successful tenant addition study translates directly to lease revenue for TowerCo operators. A 5-minute analysis can green-light a multi-year lease contract.
